Every day we leave countless traces in the digital world using the internet and mobile phones. Governments and companies like Google and Facebook covet this valuable data. Are our civil liberties at risk?

The giants of the Internet gobble up data in enormous server farms, which have become the warehouses of our private lives. Huge amounts of data cross borders at the speed of light but who is in control? Which national laws apply? Privacy commissioners seem like modern day Don Quixotes in their struggle to tame the hungry data beasts.

We investigated the rationale behind Google Street View, the company’s hunger for any type of information and the citizen´s protest movement against it. We also challenged Facebook´s founder Mark Zuckerberg´s assertion that privacy is dead.
