Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby und mehr gehören zur Starbesetzung von "Avengers: Doomsday". Der Film vereint die Avengers und die X-Men.
Die "Avengers"-Filme waren schon immer voller Topstars, da wird der neue Teil "Doomsday", keine Ausnahme sein, wie die Filmschmiede Marvel nun bekattngegegeben hat. Neben Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby und Paul Rudd wird beispielsweise auch Florence Pugh dabei sein.
Am Mittwoch veröffentlichte Marvel auf seinen Social-Media-Kanälen eine Reihe von Videos und Bildern zum neuen Streifen, in denen der Cast präsentiert wurde. Auch Downey Jr. postete auf seinem Instagram-Kanal ein sehr breites Bild, das Stühle mit den Namen der Schauspielerinnen und Schauspieler zeigt.

Dass Downey Jr. im Film mit dabei ist, war im vergangenen Jahr eine große Überraschung. Marvel hatte die neuen "Avengers"-Pläne im Juli bei der Comic-Con-Filmmesse im kalifornischen San Diego verkündet. Dabei überraschte der Oscarpreisträger die Fans damit, dass er den Marvel-Bösewicht Doctor Doom spielen werde.

Downey hatte in Marvel-Filmen viele Male das exzentrische Genie Tony Stark alias Iron Man verkörpert, zuletzt in dem Kino-Hit "Avengers: Endgame" (2019). Darin kam der Superheld ums Leben, die Fans mussten von der ikonischen Figur Abschied nehmen.
Der Schurke Victor von Doom alias Doctor Doom ist im Marvel-Universum ein Erzfeind des Superhelden-Quartetts Fantastic Four. Sein entstelltes Gesicht verbirgt er hinter einer Maske, dazu trägt er einen grünen Kapuzen-Umhang.

Die Filmproduktion von "Doomsday" sei angelaufen, hieß es. Der Streifen unter der Regie der Brüder Anthony und Joe Russo soll im Mai 2026 in die Kinos kommen, gefolgt von "Avengers: Secret Wars" ein Jahr danach.
