Als jugendlicher Schlagzeuger im Film "School of Rock" wurde Kevin Clark bekannt. Jetzt ist er im Alter von 32 Jahren bei einem tragischen Fahrradunfall gestorben.
Der Schlagzeuger und Schauspieler Kevin Clark ist bei einem tragischen Verkehrsunfall ums Leben gekommen. Laut einem Bericht des US-amerikanischen Portals TMZ wurde Clark in Chicago auf dem Fahrrad von einem Auto angefahren. Im Krankenhaus verstarb er. Nach Angaben seiner Schwester sei er gerade auf dem Heimweg gewesen. Clark wurde nur 32 Jahre alt.
Clark hatte im Alter von 15 Jahren in dem Film "School of Rock" mitgespielt. Zur Schauspielerei war er jedoch nur über seine eigentliche Leidenschaft gekommen: das Schlagzeugspielen. Clark saß im Alter von drei Jahren zum ersten Mal an den Drums, auch in "School of Rock" verkörperte er einen Schlagzeuger. Die Filmemacher hatten damals einen Jungen gesucht, der verschiedene Instrumente beherrschte. Clark war, so erzählte er es später gern, an die Rolle gekommen, indem er sich auf eine Annonce in der Lokalzeitung gemeldet hatte.

Sein plötzlicher Tod sorgte bei Kollegen und Weggefährten für Trauer und Bestürzung. Jack Black, der in "School of Rock" die Hauptrolle spielte, trauert auf Instagram um Kevin Clark. "Eine schreckliche Nachricht. Kevin ist von uns gegangen. Viel zu früh. Wunderschöne Seele. So viele tolle Erinnerungen. Mein Herz ist gebrochen. Meine Liebe geht an seine Familie und die ganze 'School of Rock'-Gemeinschaft", schrieb der Schauspieler.

Rivkah Reyes, die ebenfalls in dem Film mitgespielt hatte, schrieb auf Twitter: "Ich werde nie deine Umarmungen und dein Lachen und die pure Freude auf deinem Gesicht vergessen, als wir uns in Chicago über den Weg gelaufen sind." Clark sei für sie der "große Bruder" gewesen, den sie nie gehabt hätte.
Weitere Auftritte als Schauspieler hatte Clark nicht. Nach seinem kurzen Ausflug auf die Kinoleinwand 2003 widmete er sich wieder ganz der Musik. Gerade erst hatte er eine neue Band gegründet, am Wochenende hatte die Musikgruppe laut "Chicago Suntimes" ihren ersten Auftritt gehabt.
