Er erlebt so einiges und trägt dabei fast immer ein breites Grinsen im Gesicht, was durchaus ansteckend auf Menschen wirkt. Rick, der Igel, lebt in der Ukraine und zeigt sich seit etwas mehr als einem Jahr auf seinem eigenen Instagram-Account.
Am 29. Juni 2018 geht das erste Bild von Rick, dem Igel, online. Damals war er noch ein Baby-Igel. Riesengroß stehen die Hinterbeine von seinem zur Kugel geformten Körper in die Luft und verfügen bereits über erstaunlich lange "Zehennägel". Dazwischen: schwarze Knopfaugen, spitzes Knopfnäschen. Und die Stacheln sehen eher aus wie Mandelsplitter auf einer Schokotorte. 141 Menschen likten das niedliche Foto, Rick aus Lwiw in der Ukraine war schließlich noch ein völlig unbekannter Neuling bei Instagram. Es dauerte keine Woche, bis ein Video von ihm schon 1850 Menschen gefiel: Rick frisst – und wer jemals einen Igel im Garten hatte, wird sich erinnern, wie unglaublich laut die Nahrungsaufnahme der stacheligen Einzelgänger vonstatten geht.

Rick lebt seit er ein Baby ist bei einem Paar, das sich offenbar sehr darum bemüht, seinen Igel gut zu unterhalten. Die beiden, die Ricks Instagram-Account in seinem Namen betreiben, stellen ihn so vor: "Hallo Welt 🌎👋 ich lebe in der Ukraine 🇺🇦 mit meinen Menschen. Und ich bin hier, um dir einen Grund zum Lächeln zu geben 😊 Bereite dich auf eine ernsthafte Ladung Niedlichkeit vor!"
Und sie übertreiben nicht: Rick trägt so oft ein breites Grinsen im Gesicht, dass man ihm menschliche Freude andichten möchte. Er lässt sich streicheln, kitzeln und scheint ein glückliches Haustier geworden zu sein. Er schnuppert an Rosen, besitzt einen eigenen Teddybären und fährt Auto – als Beifahrer und angeschnallt, natürlich.

Ricks "Menschen" drehen mit dem Igel auch Insta-Storys zu verschiedenen Themen. In "Art" begegnet Rick den großen Malern der Geschichte, die, wen auch sonst, IHN zum Mittelpunkt ihrer Bilder machen.
