Es ist offiziell: Nachdem Cara Delevingne, 26, mit einem Kuss-Video auf Instagram die Gerüchteküche um ihre Beziehung mit Ashley Benson (29, "Pretty Little Liars") weiter angefeuert hatte, hat sie nun zum ersten Mal über ihre Liebe zu der US-Schauspielerin gesprochen. In einer Rede im Rahmen einer Gala der Hilfsorganisation Trevor Project machte Delevingne ihrer Freundin eine rührende Liebeserklärung.

"Sie hat mir gezeigt, was wahre Liebe ist und diese zu akzeptieren - was viel schwerer ist, als ich gedacht habe. Ich liebe dich, Streusel", sagte die 26-Jährige auf der Bühne, während Benson im Publikum saß. Im Interview mit "E! News" erklärte Delevingne außerdem, warum sie sich entschlossen habe, die Beziehung nun öffentlich zu machen. Seit circa einem Jahr gibt es die Gerüchte um die beiden Frauen.
"Es ist Pride, Stonewall ist 50 Jahre her. Und es geht einfach um unseren ersten Jahrestag, also warum nicht?", so das britische Model . Eigentlich sei sie kein Fan davon, solche Dinge offiziell zu machen, "aber es ist ein kleines Etwas". Der Juni gilt als Pride Month, in dem an den Stonewall-Aufstand von 1969 in Manhattan erinnert wird, bei dem es zu gewalttätigen Konflikten von Homo- und Transsexuellen mit der Polizei von New York kam.
