Mit einem Feuerwerk auf einem Baukran wollte er auf die schlechte Behandlung von Walen in Erlebnisparks aufmerksam machen. Für diese spektakuläre Protestaktion muss "Jackass"-Star Steve-O nun hinter Gittern.
"Jackass"-Star Steve-O, 41, muss nach einer waghalsigen Protestaktion für einen Monat ins Gefängnis. "Angesichts der Tatsache, dass ich sauber, vernünftig und ein Hunde rettender Veganer geworden bin, bin ich jetzt bereit, ins Gefängnis zu gehen", erklärte der Stuntman auf seiner Instagram-Seite. "Es ist schön, die Leute wissen zu lassen, dass ich weiter Kante zeige."
Der US-Amerikaner hatte vor zwei Monaten einen Großeinsatz von Polizei und Feuerwehr ausgelöst, als er mitten in Los Angeles auf einen rund hundert Meter hohen Baukran geklettert war. Dort protestierte er gegen die seiner Meinung nach schlechten Behandlung von Walen in Erlebnisparks und zündete ein Feuerwerk.

Dafür wurde Steve-O laut US-Medien am Mittwoch zu 30 Tagen Haft und drei Jahren Bewährung verurteilt. Er müsse die Strafe am 9. Dezember antreten, schrieb die "Los Angeles Times" und berief sich auf einen Behördensprecher.
Steve-O, der mit bürgerlichem Namen Stephen Glover heißt, wurde mit der MTV-Show "Jackass" bekannt. Dort unterhielten er und seine Kollegen die Zuschauer mit oft schmerzhaften und teils ekelerregenden Stunts. Mehrere Kinofilme zur Show wurden zum Kassenschlager.
