Die britische Youtuberin und TV-Moderatorin Emily Hartridge ist tot. Die junge Frau wurde auf einem E-Scooter von einem Lastwagen erfasst und getötet.
Die britische Youtuberin Emily Hartridge ist tot. Die 35-Jährige ist bei einem Verkehrsunfall ums Leben gekommen, wie auf ihrem Instagramkanal bekanntgegeben wurde. Britische Medien berichten, sie soll auf einem Elektro-Scooter verunglückt sein. Laut der BBC wurde sie bereits am Freitag an einem Kreisverkehr im Süden Londons von einem Lastwagen erfasst und getötet. Die Verletzungen seien so massiv gewesen, dass die Rettungskräfte sie noch vor Ort für tot erklärten.
Am Samstag wurden dann ihre Fans im Netz über das tragische Unglück informiert. Hartridge hatte rund 50.000 Follower auf Instagram und rund 340.000 Abonnenten auf Youtube. Ihre Online-Präsenz hatte sie sich vor allem mit Posts und Videos über Sport, Ernährung und einen gesunden Lifestyle aufgebaut. In dem von ihr entwickelten Format "10 Reasons Why" hat sie laut der BBC bekannte Schauspieler wie Hugh Jackman und Eddie Redmayne interviewt.
Das Statement auf ihrem Instagram-Kanal beschreibt die 35-Jährige als jemanden, der "sehr viele Leben berührt" hätte. "Wir alle liebten sie über alles und werden sie niemals vergessen", heißt es dort weiter. Sie sei "eine ganz besondere Person" gewesen.

E-Scooter in Großbritannien aktuell noch verboten
Bei dem Verkehrsunfall soll Hartridge auf einem Elektro-Scooter gestanden haben. Es sind zwar noch keine Details zum Unfallhergang und zu den genauen Umständen bekannt, dennoch gilt: Die im Moment weltweit beliebten elektrischen Fahrzeuge sind in Großbritannien nach aktueller Rechtsprechung auf allen öffentlichen Straßen sowie Gehwegen verboten. Man darf sie lediglich auf Privatgeländen fahren.
Hartridge hatte sich in den vergangenen Wochen auf ihren Kanälen vermehrt mit ihrem Kinderwunsch auseinandergesetzt und davon berichtet, dass sie Eizellen einfrieren lassen wollte. In vielen der Videos und Fotos posiert sie mit ihrem Freund Jacob Hazell.
