Nach 19 Jahren steht Judith Rakers am Mittwoch zum letzten Mal für die "Tagesschau" vor der Kamera. Im Anschluss will sich die 48-Jährige auf ihre unternehmerischen Projekte fokussieren.
19 Jahre stand Judith Rakers für die Tagesschau als Sprecherin vor der Kamera. Am Mittwoch hört sie mit einer letzten Ausgabe der 20-Uhr-Sendung auf.
Im Anschluss will sich die 48-Jährige auf ihre unternehmerischen Projekte fokussieren. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Nachrichtensprecherin ist Rakers seit Jahren vor allem in ihrem eigenen Garten zu Hause. "Ich war für die Tagesschau immer freiberuflich tätig und hatte deshalb noch andere Standbeine", erklärt sie auf ihrem Instagram-Kanal.

Judith Rakers: Unternehmerin mit grünem Daumen
Mit ihrem Bestseller "Homefarming: Selbstversorgung ohne grünen Daumen" und dem dazugehörigen Kochbuch hat sich die gebürtige Paderbornerin bereits ein weiteres Standbein aufgebaut. Darüber hinaus produziert sie unter ihrer eigenen Marke "Homefarming" eigene Produkte, wie Saatgut-Boxen und Gartenwerkzeug. Mit einer eigenen Redaktion produziert sie zudem ein Online-Magazin und einen Podcast.
Abschied mit Ankündigung: Judith Rakers präsentiert ein letztes Mal die Nachrichten in der "Tagesschau"
"Guten Abend, meine Damen und Herren, ich begrüße Sie zur 'Tagesschau'" – diesen Satz wird Judith Rakers am 31. Januar 2024 ein letztes Mal sagen. Nach 19 Jahren verlässt sie auf eigenen Wunsch als Sprecherin die Nachrichtensendung. Das gab der NDR Mitte des Monats in einer Mitteilung bekannt. "Judith Rakers' Abschied von der 'Tagesschau' ist ein großer Verlust. Sie ist nicht nur bei unseren Zuschauerinnen und Zuschauern beliebt, auch das gesamte Team schätzt sie als Mensch und Kollegin", sagte Marcus Bornheim, Erster Chefredakteur ARD-aktuell. Rakers erklärte, es sei "an der Zeit, den Fokus in meinem Leben auf andere Projekte zu lenken, meine unternehmerische Tätigkeit weiter auszubauen und Neues anzupacken, für das neben dem Nachrichten-Schichtdienst bisher zu wenig Zeit war."

Ganz vom Fernsehen verabschiedet sich Judith Rakers jedoch nicht. Als Moderatorin der Talkshow "3nach9" und des Reisemagazins "Wunderschön" bleibt sie den Öffentlich-Rechtlichen erhalten.
