Dass er erkrankt ist, hatte Gigi D'Agostino schon vor ein paar Wochen erklärt. Nun zeigte er auch mit einem Foto, dass es ihm nicht gut geht.
Der italienische DJ und Musikproduzent Gigi D'Agostino ("In My Mind", "L'Amour Toujours") hat sich wenige Wochen nach dem Bekanntwerden seiner Erkrankung wieder bei seinen Fans gemeldet. "Ich hoffe, dass mir dieses neue Jahr ein bisschen Frieden und Kraft schenkt...", schrieb der 54-Jährige auf der Social-Media-Plattform Instagram. Dazu postete er ein Foto, das ihn an einem Rollator zeigte. "Gib nicht auf, Legende" oder "nur Mut, Gigi" kommentierten einige Fans darunter.

Der gebürtig aus Turin in Norditalien stammende D'Agostino erlangte durch seine Partyhits aus der Zeit um die Jahrtausendwende Bekanntheit. Viele kennen noch die Musikvideos, wie etwa zu seinem Hit "The Riddle" (im Original von Nik Kershaw) oder "Bla Bla Bla", die eine laufende Zeichentrickfigur zeigen, die sich stetig verwandelt. Beide Lieder waren damals über Wochen in den deutschen Charts. 2018 schaffte er zusammen mit dem litauischen DJ Dynoro mit "In My Mind" einen Nummer-Eins-Hit in Deutschland.
Der Italiener hatte Mitte Dezember auf Instagram mitgeteilt, dass er krank sei. "Leider kämpfe ich seit einigen Monaten gegen eine schwere Krankheit, die mich sehr aggressiv angegriffen hat", schrieb er damals. Er sprach darin von einem "konstanten Schmerz". Was ihm genau fehlte, verriet er allerdings nicht.
