Babys brauchen Liebe, Geborgenheit, Verständnis. Was sie ganz sicher nicht brauchen sind High Heels, wie sie ein US-amerikanisches Unternehmen verkauft. Dennoch wird die Firma dafür im Netz gefeiert.
Manchmal findet man im Internet Dinge, von deren Existenz man lieber nie erfahren hätte. Die Seite "Pee Wee Pumps" ist so ein Fall. Das US-amerikanische Unternehmen verkauft High Heels für Babys im Alter von null bis sechs Monaten. Für 15 Dollar das Paar können Eltern ihren kleinen Töchtern modisches Schuhwerk verpassen. Die Pumps mit dem weichen Absatz sollen Kindern als "erstes Fashion-Statement" dienen und sie in "Diven" verwandeln, heißt es auf der Website .
Das Unternehmen selbst findet nichts Problematisches an seinem Produkt und vertreibt die Schuhe in mehreren Farben: So gibt es die Kinder-Pumps in Leo-Optik, Pink , Schwarz oder Rot zu kaufen. Die einzelnen Modelle werden auf der Website mit verschiedenen Attributen angepriesen, zum Beispiel "frech", "hübsch", "wild" oder "mondän".

Um richtige Pumps handelt es sich dabei nicht. Die Schuhe sind mit einem Absatz aus Schaumstoff versehen, der bei Belastung einklappt. Zum Laufen oder Spielen eignen sich die Schuhe nach Angabe des Herstellers nicht. Die meisten Babys auf der Website des Unternehmens liegen oder sitzen, während sie die Schuhe tragen. Viele sind aufwändig gestylt und tragen Perlenketten oder Kopfbänder mit Blüten.

"Wer sagt Ihnen, dass Ihre kleine Tochter zu jung ist, um Glamour zu versprühen?", preist das Unternehmen sein Produkt an. "Sie sehen aus wie Mammis Lieblingspaar Pumps - nur als Mini-Version." Das Unternehmen bewirbt die Schuhe auch in den sozialen Netzwerken - und wird dafür von vielen Usern gefeiert. Die Kommentare reichen von "süß" über "must have" bis hin zu Nachfragen, wo es die Schuhe zu kaufen gibt. Doch auch Kritik muss das Unternehmen einstecken. "Hört auf, eure Kinder zu sexualisieren", protestiert etwa eine Userin. "Das ist lächerlich", schreibt eine andere. Und eine Dritte kommentiert ein Foto mit den Worten: "Das Baby ist süß - die Schuhe dagegen nicht."
