Adelino, 15, Ruby, 13, Aleecia, 9, Anthony, 8, Aubriella, 7, Leo, 5, und Xander, 4, haben bei einem tragischen Autounfall ihre Mutter und ihren Vater verloren. Daraufhin lebten die Kinder zunächst ein Jahr lang in Pflegefamilien. Doch als ein Paar von ihrem Schicksal erfuhr, zögerte es nicht lange.
Paar adoptiert sieben Waisenkinder
Als Pam Willis ihren Facebook-Feed durchstöbert, stößt sie auf eine Nachricht über sieben Geschwister, die ein dauerhaftes Zuhause brauchen. Was sie dort liest, lässt sie nicht mehr los: Der Gedanke, dass sieben Kinder nicht nur den Tod ihrer Eltern verkraften müssen, sondern auch getrennt voneinander aufwachsen könnten, bricht ihr das Herz.
Sie markiert ihren Mann Gary in dem Beitrag und noch am gleichen Abend treffen sie die Entscheidung: Sie werden die Waisenkinder adoptieren. Pam und Gary leben in Menifee, Kalifornien und haben fünf erwachsene Kinder. Das Paar hatte bereits mehrmals Pflegekinder aufgenommen, doch Adoption hatten sie bis dato nicht in Erwägung gezogen. "Ich kann es nicht erklären – ich wusste einfach, dass ich ihre Mutter sein soll", sagte Pam über die Waisenkinder gegenüber "TODAY Parents".

Es war Schicksal
Viele Menschen wollten den Kindern helfen, doch die kamen schließlich wirklich zu Pam und Gary, die sich nun hingebungsvoll um sie kümmern – und ihnen bei der Bewältigung ihres Traumas helfen.
Für Pam war es Schicksal. Sie und ihr Mann haben ein geräumiges Haus, aus dem kurz zuvor ihr jüngster biologischer Sohn ausgezogen ist. "Warum sonst sollte unser Nest, das unsere ersten fünf Babys großgezogen hat, gerade jetzt leer sein? Das war nur, um Platz für unsere neuen Babys zu schaffen", schreibt Pam auf ihrem Familien-Instagram -Kanal "Second Chance 7".
Mit der Adoption haben sieben Kinder ein neues Zuhause gefunden und Gary und Pam Willis gehen erneut in der Elternrolle auf. "Sie haben uns eine zweite Chance gegeben, Eltern zu werden, wir haben ihnen eine zweite Mama und einen zweiten Papa gegeben."
