Auf Instagram teilt der Star des Football-Teams "Cleveland Browns" ein dramatisches Video: Mit Tränen in den Augen beugt sich Hakeem Adeniji über seine Frau, in den Händen halten sie ihren toten Sohn Semiu Zade Adeniji. Der Junge kam tot zur Welt – fünf Tage vor dem Geburtsdatum konnten Ärzte keinen Herzschlag bei dem Säugling feststellen.
Am Montag teilt der NFL-Mann die tragischen News seinen Fans auf Instagram mit. Er schreibt: "Vor knapp einer Woche haben wir unseren kleinen Jungen verloren. Es herrscht Wut, Trauer und Leere. Die Tatsache, dass er weg ist und nie wieder kommen wird, hat eingeschlagen ..." Weiter: "Ich werde nie erleben, wie er aufwächst. Und er wird nie sein Tagebuch lesen können, das ich für ihn geschrieben habe. Ich vermisse ihn und ich werde ihn jeden Tag meines Lebens vermissen."

Auf Instagram schreibt er weiter: "Es fällt mir sehr schwer, aber so ist das Leben. Wir bedanken uns bei allen, die uns Gebete und Kraft schicken. Ich will immer noch ein Dad sein, mehr als alles in der Welt. Sollte ich jemals wieder Vater werden, nehme ich keinen Tag für selbstverständlich. Ich liebe meinen Jungen und er wird durch uns weiterleben."
Auch die trauernde Mutter meldet sich auf Instagram. Kayla: "Wir haben unseren Sohn verloren. Wir mussten uns vom schönsten Geschöpf auf Erden verabschieden. Wir werden nie mehr dieselben sein und ihn nie vergessen. Er hatte einen Lockenkopf und die Nase seines Vaters, die zartesten Backen und große Hände. Er wird für immer mein Sohn sein – und ich für immer seine Mama."

Semiu kam am 2. November zur Welt, fünf Tage vor dem errechneten Geburtstermin. Kayla beendet ihren Post mit den Worten: "Als ich ihn zum ersten Mal im Arm hielt, konnte ich nicht glauben, wie toll er war. Ich hatte so lange davon geträumt, sein Gesicht zu sehen. Es sah aus, als würde er in meinen Armen schlafen - er sah so friedlich aus."
