Der eine gilt als der schönste Fußballer dieses Planeten, der andere ist zweifellos der beste. In Dubai sind sich Andrea Pirlo und Lionel Messi begegnet. Der Italiener veröffentlichte ein Foto von dem Treffen.
So ähnlich muss es gewesen sein, wenn sich die Dichter Johann Wolfgang von Goethe und Friedrich Schiller trafen. Oder Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart mit Joseph Haydn musizierte. In Dubai trafen sich am Sonntag zwei Ausnahmekünstler der Gegenwart: die Fußballer Lionel Messi und Andrea Pirlo . Beide zählen zu den besten ihres Fachs. Während Messi schon vier Mal zum Weltfußballer des Jahres gekürt wurde, hat Pirlo wegen seiner außergewöhnlichen Fähigkeiten am Ball den Beinamen "Mozart" verliehen bekommen. Zudem gilt der Italiener als schönster Fußballer der Welt.Dubai . Beide weilten in dem Wüstenstaat, um im Rahmen des dort stattfindenden 10. Internationalen Sportforums Auszeichnungen entgegen zu nehmen.
Der Argentinier Lionel Messi erhielt im Rahmen der Veranstaltung den Globe Soccer Award als bester Spieler des Jahres 2015. Sein Verein, der FC Barcelona wurde zudem als bestes Team ausgezeichnet. Andrea Pirlo wurde dagegen mit dem Career Award für sein Lebenswerk geehrt.

Beide präsentierten sich abseits der Gala sommerlich entspannt, Messi in T-Shirt, Pirlo in kurzer Hose und mit lässig ins Hemd gesteckter Sonnenbrille. Ein Foto von der Begegnung, bei der auch seine Kinder Angela und Niccolò zugegen waren, veröffentlichte der Italiener stolz auf seinem Instagram-Account . "A great meeting with the best ...", kommentierte Pirlo das Foto, das bereits 115.000 Fans gefällt.

Noch im Juni dieses Jahres standen sich die beiden im Champions-League-Finale gegenüber. Damals gewann Messi mit dem FC Barcelona gegen Pirlos damaligen Club Juventus Turin mit 3:1.
Inzwischen haben sich ihre Karrieren jedoch in andere Richtungen entwickelt. Während Messi mit Barcelona ins Trainingslager geht, kann Andrea Pirlo weiterhin die Sonne genießen: Er steht beim US-Fußballclub New York City FC unter Vertrag. Und die neue Saison in der Major League Soccer (MLS) beginnt erst im März.
