Mit "#söderisst" hat Bayerns Ministerpräsident Markus Söder seinen eigenen kleinen Foodblog auf Instagram und Facebook geschaffen. Dabei geht es wohl um sehr viel mehr als nur seine Essgewohnheiten.
Als Bayerns Ministerpräsident Markus Söder letztens mal wieder "auf langen Fahrten durch das Land" unterwegs war, gab es für ihn "nur eine Alternative", wie er auf Instagram schreibt: einen McRib und eine Portion Pommes in sauceverschmierter Pappe. "Ich gebe zu: Mir schmeckt es sehr". Smiley.
#söderisst: Markus Söder präsentiert sein Essen
Unter dem Hashtag "#söderisst" zeigt der CSU-Chef seinen Followern auf Instagram und Facebook schon seit geraumer Zeit, wovon er sich so ernährt – frei nach dem Motto: "Was soll ich heute essen? Salat oder Schlachtplatte?" Auf mehr als 12 800 Likes brachte es der McRib.

"Die Idee zu #söderisst kam von Markus Söder selbst. Es sind immer seine Bilder und sein Essen", sagt einer seiner Sprecher. "Viele Menschen interessieren sich auch für den Alltag hinter der Arbeit als Politiker."
"Spargel ist mein Lieblingsgemüse" erfahren diese Menschen zum Beispiel. Es gibt ein Video von drehenden Brathendln, eine Schweinshaxe auf dem Volksfest Nürnberg und ein Schoko-Osterlamm in Traunstein.

Ernährungsexperten hätten zu den deftigen Essgewohnheiten des 56-Jährigen sicher einiges zu sagen – aber Kommunikationswissenschaftler auch. "Ein Klassiker, vor allem im Bereich des Populismus" sei das, sagt der Kommunikationswissenschaftler Carsten Reinemann von der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU). Von "Gastropopulismus" oder "Food populism" sei in der Forschung die Rede, wenn Politiker thematisieren, was sie so essen.

"Ziel ist oftmals die Herstellung von Volksnähe", sagt er. "Deshalb lassen sich gerade Populisten auch gern beim gemeinsamen Essen mit Bürgerinnen und Bürgern ablichten."
Zwei Große am See: Söder und Merz in Love
Die Ausgangssituation: Lange Zeit haben Friedrich und Markus kaum ein Wort miteinander gewechselt. Zu lange haben die beiden Brüder einer konservativ-bürgerlichen Familiendynastie unter der Ära ihrer Mutter Angela gelitten. Doch dann, endlich, ist der große Moment da: Die Patriarchin zieht sich auf ihren Alterssitz in der Uckermark zurück. Nun ist es an Friedrich und Markus, die Geschicke des Unionshauses zu lenken.

Als Beispiele für "Gastropopulismus" nennt Reinemann den rechtsextremen brasilianischen Ex-Präsidenten Jair Bolsonaro, den früheren US-Präsidenten Donald Trump, der sich demonstrativ Fast Food ins Weiße Haus bestellte - aber auch Ex-Bundeskanzler Gerhard Schröder (SPD) und sein inzwischen beinahe ikonisches "Hol' mir mal ne Flasche Bier".
"Essen kann natürlich auch ein Mittel sein, sich vom Stereotyp des politischen Gegners abzugrenzen", sagt Uni-Professor Reinemann. "Also im Fall der CSU vor allem von den Grünen", die die Christsozialen gerne als "vegetarisch, vegan, freudlos", darstellen.
